Getting older and bigger

Hello again. Things have been pretty interesting since we got back from Texas. Mommy got a new job. She is going to be teaching again. She said she'll be teaching kids that are much bigger than me - something called a 'teenager'. Sounds scary. So far, Mommy has had to leave me a few times, but I really like my sitter and her little daughter. We play, and I seem to sleep a lot while I'm there. There is just so much to see and do. I think I get tired from not blinking for a few hours. So, while Mommy hangs out with big kids all day, I hang out with people my own size and pay too. Now that I can do more things, I like to play more during the day, so while I'll miss Mommy, I can play with other little people like me.
Speaking of doing more things, I've acquired some new tricks. I can sit up now. It makes things a little easier. I haven't perfected it just yet. Sometimes I lean for a toy and just keep on leaning. Sometimes I get stuck leaning on my arms. That is frustrating to me. I have to let Mommy know about those frustrations. She is always sitting right there when I'm trying to sit. She helps me out while I play. I try to move faster than her, but it usually gets me in trouble. Like today, I got past her and managed to hit the box that holds Daddy's entertainment box. Mommy calls it the TV. Anyhoo, it left a tiny mark on my cheek. Mommy was not happy about that at all. I was proud that I got past her, and then just felt pain. I'm going to try to avoid that from now on but no promises.
Speaking of pain, Mommy took me back to that doctor lady again. Man, is she ever going to be nice to me?? She gave me 4 more shot thingies - one for each month I've been out of the condo. This time, Mommy did much better. She didn't cry at all. I can't say the same for myself. I was so mad; I started to do my dead on impression of a fire alarm. Mommy thought this was really funny - I did not agree. Those shots are no fun. We did other fun things though, I got to stretch out- apparently I'm 26 inches long. And I'm almost 17 pounds. I can tell you those numbers now, but not in a few years.
On that note, I'm 5/12 now. We celebrated by going to Target to try to get a new toy since I am getting too big and too strong for my other things. Sadly, Mommy did not find what she wanted. I saw lots of things that looked good. Mommy did not agree. Is this foreshadowing for our future trips to Target? Probably. I did not blink there either. I took a long nap after we got home.
I have also started to eat more interesting foods besides white mush. So far, I like everything except applesauce. I keep making weird faces, but Mommy hasn't stopped giving it to me yet. Today, she mixed it with the mush and it was much better. I like carrots too, but carrots don't seem to like me. I keep giving those back - all over Mommy's shirt and my poor poor Dolly. She is the coolest. I always laugh and talk (scream) at her. Good news - Dolly came through the carrot incident unscathed. She cleans up well.
We are still chronicling everything for Daddy. We are almost half way done with his trip. That is exciting to think about. Hopefully I'll have that carrot thing worked out by then. I can't see Daddy handling that too well. He thought the soy was bad :)
Well, I'm tired now. More later. Check out our new web links if you have time.
